Configuration
The Configuration area lets you control how your bot behaves and looks. Changes are staged and saved using the banner at the top of the page.
Saving changes
When you edit any field, a banner appears with:
- Save Changes to apply updates.
- Discard Changes to revert to the last saved state.
General
- Name and description: Names the bot in the switcher and on its own pages.
- Initial messages: Up to 3 messages shown when chat opens.
- Suggested messages: Up to 3 quick reply suggestions shown above the input.
Model
- Model: Choose GPT-4o Mini for speed and cost efficiency or GPT-4o for more demanding conversations.
- Temperature: Range 0.0 to 1.0. Lower is more focused, higher is more creative.
- System prompt: Sets your bot's voice and how much it says.
Your prompt does not need to tell the bot to stick to your trained content, or to admit when it does not know something. Every bot answers only from its own sources and says so when the answer is not there, whatever its prompt says.
It also does not need to ask for readable replies. By default a bot leads with the direct answer, writes in Markdown, and answers a list with short bullets rather than one long paragraph. Ask for something different in your prompt if you want it.
Length is the part that is yours. A bot trained on a long policy page will relay the whole page unless you tell it how much to say.
Example system prompt:
You are the assistant for Ridgeline Cycles, a bicycle shop. Speak in the first person as the shop and address the reader as "you".
Keep replies short: two or three sentences, or a few brief bullets. When there is more to say than that, answer the part that was asked and offer the rest.
Be warm and practical. If someone needs a price confirmed or a repair booked, give them what you have and invite them to call the shop.
